Equipment 101 – Introduction
When you are assessing a location for a play area, there are many considerations that should be incorporated into your equipment choices. As the manufacturer’s representative, you are an integral part of creating a safe and fun learning experience.
What equipment is acceptable for certain age groups?
What protective surfacing is required for which equipment?
What development benefits do different types of equipment provide?
When administrators at schools, child care centers, public parks, etc. decide to provide play equipment, they are taking on a responsibility to their end users. When you recommend and supply the equipment, you are sharing in that responsibility. Your knowledge of the play safety requirements and the manufacturer’s equipment you represent is vital to your clients and their ability to provide and understand the standard of care.
